CREEK
Cold and narrow between the mossy banks / Rounding the boulders in small white confusion
GENTLE
Giving back the world its softest version / Each word considered before it lands
DREAM
Drifting between the known and the almost known / Rooms connected in impossible sequences
CURVE
Coming around the bend reveals what the straight road kept from you / Understanding that the path winds is not the same as accepting delay
SAFE
Somewhere that the world can't enter / A warmth without a need to prove it
FROST
Forming in the night on every surface / Reaching over the grass with cold white fingers
LUNCH
Left on the desk while the meeting ran long / Unwrapped without looking up from the screen
WALK
Wednesday morning colder than expected / Around the block once more for no reason
LOVE
Living from a genuine care for the world begins with care for the self / Only the love that is offered freely without needing a specific return lasts
ANGER
A heat that rises without warning / Nothing holds the fire back
FEAR
Freezing at the edge of the unknown / Every shadow seems to breathe
CREEK
Chattering through the shaded afternoon / Rustling over pebbles smooth and cold
CORE
Centering in what is most essential is a daily practice / Out beyond all the peripheral is what you actually are
CHILD
Careful with a broken thing they found outside / Homework spread across the wrong table
JOY
Jumping into the light with both feet / Only laughter tells the truth
REEF
Resting just below the hull and waiting / Each current brings new life to the formation
OCEAN
Old bones of ships lie quiet in the dark / Currents carrying heat from one world to the next
LIMIT
Learning where you end is not the same as giving up / In every boundary, there is also the outline of your truth
OCEAN
Opening before the ship without an end / Carrying its storms from one coast to the next
FAITH
Feeling your way forward when the visible path has disappeared takes trust / Acting on what you cannot prove yet is how the unprovable becomes real
DAWN
Dew on the windowsill before breakfast / A soft light crosses the kitchen floor
AWE
All your certainties dissolve at once / When the world exceeds what you prepared for
WHOLE
What is broken can be gathered into something new and true / Healing does not mean returning to before the fracture
TRUTH
There is something steady underneath the shifting noise / Returning to it feels like water after thirst
DIARY
December is always the most honest month / In the margins the things too small for a line
DEW
Deep in the night it settled on the rose / Everything it touches it makes briefly new
SEEK
Searching is the honest state of anyone who is alive / Everything worth knowing hides a little from the casual glance
MEAL
Made before anyone knew they were hungry / Everyone at the table and the phones away
WALK
Weather finally good and the coat unnecessary / Around the long way because of the light
FOG
From the west the fog comes up the inlet / Over the bridge and down the river road
GENTLE
Gracefully refusing to cause harm / Easing into what is difficult
HAPPY
How simple joy can be when we allow / A door swung open to the afternoon
SAND
Scattered fine across the winter beach / All the footprints gone from yesterday
LONELY
Listening for a voice that understands / Over and over the silence answers back
MARSH
Mud and sky and water undecided / All the reeds together in the late light
COOK
Clock watched only occasionally / On low and covered and left to do its thing
YEARN
You lean toward the irretrievable / Every distance feels like hunger
MOVED
Meeting something that undoes you / Opening wider than you planned
LUNCH
Leftover soup warmed on the stove quietly / Under the window where the light is best
QUIET
Quite often what looks like inaction is the loudest kind of inner work / Understanding arrives on its own schedule to the mind that waits for it
BLISS
Between one breath and the next, arriving / Loose inside a moment without edge
WAVE
Winding up from somewhere past the horizon / And arriving here as if we were the reason
QUIET
Questions settle when the noise retreats / Under every restless thought, a floor
DUSK
Dimming the detail and leaving only outline / Under the last red light the bats appear
YEARN
You keep a place inside for what is gone / Every reaching forward leaves it open
PINE
Pointing straight and still into the cold / Its resin smell outlasts every season
HOPE
Held between the broken and the new / One small light inside the corridor
ASSET
A strength not named is still a strength but harder to deploy / Seeing what you have is the first step toward using it with skill
TRUST
Turning toward the one who might betray you / Resting anyway and choosing to believe
QUEST
Quietly committed to the search, you move when others stop / Under every resting place is the pull toward what remains unfound
